Well, if you hadn't already concluded that Kellie was just about the Kellie's Dog Comet coolest, most likeable girl in the world, during her pre-performance interview, we learn that she's a huge dog lover ! Kellie shows the same sense of humor that we've all come to appreciate when she tells us that "Comet's a really smart dog." We then get to see a little clip of Comet's fetching skills, which, leave a little to be desired : ). Kellie tells us that she doesn't think Comet's going to be winning any dog competitions soon. That's okay. We all love Comet just the way he is!

Kellie, You're Not The Only One!

Kellie came onto the stage wearing jeans and a black tank top. As we've indicated before on this site, looks are certainly not the most important thing in life, but, friends, KELLIE LOOKED DAZZLING! She was taking on a Melissa Etheridge tune, and, Melissa is wonderful, and, for an instant, I was a little nervous, wondering what would happen. Five seconds into the song, that nervousness was replaced with glee, as I heard Kellie nailing it: including the emotion of this powerful song, because, the lyrics, which you can see below, are quite powerful! And, Kellie, you're not the only one! We're all right there with you!

Oh, hilarious! Hilarious! That might have been one of the funniest and most endearing moments on the American Idol program ever! Simon, facetiously, I think, characterizes Kellie as a "naughty little minx," and, she later says, "I'm a mink!"... and, somehow the whole calamari thing comes back up! Wow, you've gotta love this show... gotta love this girl. Pick Pickler!

Now, did you guys catch Simon's comments there? Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I heard Mr. Cowell correctly, and, it sounds like he just said that he prefers Kellie Pickler to Carrie Underwood!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!
