Top 8: Kellie's Got Ambition And Guts!

Okay, so, before going into further detail, let me state the conclusion first: Kellie Pickler's performance of Bohemian Rhapsody was marvelous! Incredible indeed! I mean... c'mon now, this girl has got ambition. But more than that. She's got guts. Make no mistake... this was a very ballsy choice!

Why Was Bohemian Rhapsody Such A Ballsy Choice?

Okay, to begin with.. this is perhaps the greatest Queen song of all time. And, just incredibly well known and, Kellie certainly knew that expectations were quite high. And, as Paula Abdul pointed out, last year, Bohemian Rhapsody was Constantine Maroulis' "shining moment." Well, friends, Bohemian Rhapsody was also Kellie Pickler's shining moment! One of the members of Queen said that "it was a difficult brave song to try to do." When Ryan introduced Kellie, he said, "No pressure. It's only the most popular song of all time." We agree. And we salute such a brave song choice!

Let's Take A Closer Look At The Lyrics

As I said, Bohemian Rhapsody is a really powerful song with powerful (and somewhat confusing) lyrics. However, part of the key to the magnificence of Kellie's perfomance is to be found in the emotional content of Queen's words.

"Mama, just killed a man, Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead

But now I've gone and thrown it all away
Mama, ooh, Didn't mean to make you cry

And Kellie's Energy!

What was really refreshing and dazzling was when the song picked up the pace and Kellie started charging around: and, in crazy huge high heels!

Wow, we really saw a different side of Kellie, and, like I said, it was great. She really got into the whole Queen rocker spirit. And, in addition, I think Kellie also put the Carrie Underwood comparisons to rest. Now, we think Carrie is a wonderful person and a spectacular singer; however, what has been a little unfair is that the media has made so many comparisons to Kellie Pickler and Carrie Underwood, while we, all along, have said that they're two different people. Sure, they're both country singers, but, still... they're two separate individuals. What I'm getting at is let's let people be without all the unnecessary comparisons. Besides, to be honest, like I said, Carrie is spectacular in her own way, but, I really couldn't picture her doing a Bohemain Rhapsody perfomance in the manner Kellie did. I just can't picture that. Well, it's actually a really funny thought. I mean... check out this part where she got in Simon's face. That was great.
