Another Super-Talented Southerner

Guys, I just don't know what it is about the southern United States! All I can say is some really, really gifted musicians come from down there! Particularly, North Carolina it would seem. What the heck is in that North Carolina water? Chris hails from McLeansville, NC. He auditioned out in Denver, and, that's right: his favorite female artist is Kelly Clarkson. Wooo HOoooo!

No Formal Training... Can You Believe This?

Chris Daughtry reports that he has no formal music training. Can you believe this? Talk about pure, natural talent! And, he didn't start singing until he was about 16 or 17 years old, and, Chris is now 26, so, we have to say, "You are doing quite well Mr. Daughtry!" Chris' talents aren't limited to music either. Like many great musicians, Chris is also into drawing and painting.

Chris' Proudest Moment In Life

I read this on the American Idol website, and it really touched my heart. When asked what his proudest moment in life was, Chris responded, "teaching my son to ride a bike." And, then he said, "making the top 24." That speaks volumes to me about this man and his character. Chris is obviously a wonderful father and great husband.

Discovered Musical Talent In Algebra Class

I've been seeing this on a bunch of websites, that Chris found out he could rock in his high school algebra class. So, we are grateful to Chris' friend Robert who somehow fits into this whole story. It also gives the kids a good message: stay in school and don't skip math class! : )

Absent Element

Chis has already recorded a cd with his band, Absent Element. So, as you can see, this is no rookie, and he's going to be a huge factor in the American Idol competition. It seems that Paula and Randy are particularly impressed with him. As far as Simon, you all know that Simon can be a little unpredictable. : )
